Dicastery
Functions of the Dicastery of Justice
The Dicastery of the Keeper of the Seals is headed by His Excellency Olivier Laveau in his capacity as Director of Judicial Affairs.
This Directorate coordinates the courts and tribunals.
These are:
Constitutional Court
Supreme Court
Court of Appeal
Court of First Instance
The Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court are composed of three members.
The Court of Appeal and the Court of First Instance are composed of two Presiding Judges, one for Italian jurisdiction and one for French jurisdiction, given that the two Priories of Sabourg correspond to the geographical areas of the territories administered by the Italian Republic and the French Republic.
Considering that the new reconstitution of the Abbatial State does not provide for the active reclamation of the territories that were once under the protection of the Italian aristocracy, the Dicastery aims to establish two mediation institutes, one for Italian jurisdiction and the other for French jurisdiction, in order to proceed with the preventive resolution of possible disputes between religious and lay citizens, known as Seborgians.
This innovative element allows citizens to make use of this tool before possibly proceeding to court in the States that administer the territories.
